While Denise and Renée both love La Paz, from the beginning it was clear to them that over time they would like to relocate to a more rural area. In that spirit, they went looking at various villages in southern BCS, thinking that “someday” they’d like to buy a place where there could be organic produce from their own gardens to use in the cooking classes, with maybe a few casitas to rent out. That has continued to be the vision.
They kept returning to San Bartolo, a semi-tropical village an hour and a half south of La Paz, and an hour and a half north of San Jose del Cabo, off of the Transpeninsular (15 minutes north of the Los Barriles turnoff.) Very unexpectedly and just by chance, they came across a house and mango orchard in this beautiful oasis that had great potential. They made a deal and have moved the cooking classes to San Bartolo. Their third cooking season was their first in San Bartolo.
Denise and Renée are grateful to all of their students, friends, and supporters, and invite everyone to track their progress on Facebook “Buen Provecho Baja”
