We would like to invite you to the beautiful village of San Bartolo, in Baja California Sur, Mexico, where we offer Mexican cooking and culture classes. Denise Elliott is Chef Instructor at Buen Provecho. She is from California, has spent significant time in Mexico, loves cooking, and has taught Mexican cooking for over 20 years. Renée Lagloire is a Cultural Anthropologist who has a deep interest in culinary anthropology and brings perspectives on the role of foods in the Mexican and Latin American cultures. Renée is from Québec, was educated in California and has spent years living in Mexico, Guatemala, Chile and Ecuador.
You’ll find that our team approach to learning about the local foods and traditions of Mexico is engaging and hands-on. Our students tell us that our knowledge and enthusiasm make learning to cook a lot of fun! (And we do like to have fun.) Speaking of which, the meals that wrap up the classes are amazing—a true celebration of our students’ skills using local flavors.

You can access these menus through the Course Calendar on the right hand side of this screen. (The menus are proposed because availability and freshness of ingredients ultimately dictate the menu)
Our classes are designed to build on each other to increase the depth of knowledge and skills. We invite you to join us for individual days or full weeks of structured group classes.
